Seeing Who God Is!

It’s Friday Again! I pray that your week has been a blessed one!

Everyone who shares with me weekly already understands that I believe that everything that happens to me may not be for me.  Lately, I have had an overwhelming feeling, because so much is going on in my life. Not bad things, but things that keep me busy.  I have had so much on my plate lately: I am on two major committee projects at work, then I have to still do what I REALLY get paid to do, choir, church, teaching Sunday school, NCGGC Inc board responsibilities, my small business venture, and let’s not forget that I am working on my Ph.D.  I have been praying for balance and order in my life.  While driving to work this morning, I heard God say, “Spend time with ME!” So I turned down my radio and began to love on God.  As I worshipped God, I then heard him tell me that everything that I have been doing is NOT about MONICA E. JACKSON! (Thank God for my Bishop preaching about Deliverance from Selfishness on Sunday, because I was able to understand what God said so clear).  He went on to tell me that “I JUST want to show you that I am GOD!”  I was then reminded of the transfiguration of Jesus.

So this Friday’s meditation, take a moment and let God show you who he is!

Matthew 17:1-9

Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. 4 Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”  And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only. Now as they came down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”

So Jesus took three of his disciples up with him on the mountain.  His purpose was to reveal to them who he REALLY was, because if you back track in the gospel according to Matthew, Jesus has just recently asked PETER who do they say that I am. So God took them up in the mountain to reveal to them who he really was (God is trying to reveal to some of you right now in your life who HE is). But like Peter many of us as God is revealing himself, we try to organize things  ourselves.  See as Peter saw this, he got so amused… trying to build a tabernacle (a dwelling place) for JESUS, MOSES, and ELIJAH.  Many of us have been like Peter, rushing to talk about our plans, putting our plans in the work.  And while we are trying to do all of that, God is just trying to show us that HE is the Messiah.  It’s not about you, it’s not about Monica but it’s about GOD! Will you let him show you that HE is God on TODAY? It does not matter who they say that I am! To you I am the MESSIAH and once I come back again, they will ALL KNOW.

I think God chose three of his disciples for a reason. He wanted to reveal who HE was and let them know what shall come to pass.   In verse 9 it states “until the Son of Man is risen from the dead”.  I believe that God chose these three to let us know that everyone who is called is not chosen.  See HE had 12 men who walked with him, but he did not take all 12 of them up to the high mountain.  I hear God saying some of you are my chosen and that is why I have revealed  what is going to happen soon in your life.  That is why so much is going on, you have so many plans, so many projects, so much going on but you cannot get it done… because the enemy wants you to get so busy that you forget the main plans that I have for your life! But I am telling you men and women of God if you just remember that HE is the MESSIAH.

And when they lifted their heads, Moses and Elijah (who they thought Jesus was… just a prophet) was gone.  The significance in that is, God wanted them to know that HE was not who the people thought he was.  He is the Messiah, greater than Moses… greater than Elijah!

Let me tell you, once you realize that God is greater than who “THEY” say HE is… ALL things will be possible to complete, because we know that ALL things are possible through CHRIST.  So stop missing choir rehearsal, stop missing bible study, stop putting Christ to the side to get YOUR plans complete (Thank you Lord that was for ME). Because if you do not have Christ in any of the things that are going on in your life, EVERYTHING will be UNCLEAR!

Some of you have all your plans in order and have not even consulted GOD! And you wonder why things are unclear right now.  You wonder why every time you try to get things accomplished, you are overwhelmed.  GOD is telling you to LISTEN to my son… just as he told Peter, James, and John.  The word tells us that they fell to their knees because they were “sore afraid” (King James Version). The problem with some of you is you are not afraid of ANYTHING… Not even the VOICE of God.  He is trying to get your attention!  He wants you to know that he is the MESSIAH.  And once you put him first all things shall be Added up to you (Matthew 6:33). It’s not about YOU… It’s NOT about MONICA… It’s About JESUS!

Let’s Pray!

God, thank you for this revelation on today.  Thank you for showing us that you are the Messiah. Thank you for being God in the midst of chaos. Give us clarity God in the things that you want us to do.  Give us the knowledge to know that we need to seek you first.  God you are worthy.  There is no one like you, and we worship and adore your name Jesus. Lord we ask today that you forgive us from our sins.  Cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Give us the peace that passes all understand.  Grant us Favor in everything that is concerning us today.  Lord we need you in our lives.  You are Welcome into our Lives on today.  You are welcome Lord into our BROKEN Vessels…. Abide in us Jesus! We Love You Lord! We can’t do it without Jesus! We need you God, decrease us and increase yourself in us. Take our wants and desires out of the equation and give us your desires for our lives.  God you’re Awesome! And it is in your name that we pray, AMEN!

Well Family! Pray for me as I continue to pray for you! Do not forget to share this meditation with someone else; you never know who may need to hear it!

Taking Me out of the Equation,

 MEJ!

Rich Sense

As a follower of Jesus Christ I believe we can make adjustments in our life which will give us a richer experience living out each day. Even if you are not a follower of Christ there are shifts that can be made to improve your life experience. These shifts are intentional internal adjustments in mind and spirit, though small, each can make a big difference in how we do life. This is all about "shifting towards the richer side of life". Who of us would not want to live a more richer, fuller life. It is possible. I invite you to travel with me on my journey to the "richer side of life". Blessings, Richard Armstrong
